School of ESN Podgorica
The third ESN School of the ESN-AIR project took place in Podgorica from December 5th to 8th, 2024, bringing together 13 dynamic and motivated volunteers.
This event was a stellar example of collaboration: Ava and Alessia, trainers from ESN Ancona, handled all the training sessions, while Lejla and Zerina from ESN Podgorica took care of the logistical aspects, hosting the school at the Rectorate of the University of Montenegro.
One of the main challenges was managing volunteers who couldn’t attend the full three-day event, which required the ESN Ancona trainers to adapt the daily topics. Despite this, everything ran smoothly, and the participants thoroughly enjoyed and benefited from the sessions.
The weekend was an intense journey, filled with recruitment, team-building activities, workshops, and evening events. Every moment was critical in fostering trust and friendship between trainers, organizers, and participants.
In the final workshop, participants developed a communication action plan, which now serves as a powerful tool for ESN Podgorica volunteers. Additionally, two volunteers from ESN Ancona joined the event and are now part of the ESN-AIR project, eager to share their best practices and contribute to the project’s short- and long-term goals.
The feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive. While the school experience was invaluable, the hope from ESN Ancona’s trainers is to maintain and build on these connections. They aim to organize future activities and moments of collaboration to keep the momentum alive. After all, a single school is not enough to truly master new skills—it’s through shared experiences and continued collaboration that we grow. We can only learn from each other by doing things together!
