Workshop on STEM Subjects at "Gymnasium Slobodankerovi" - Podgorica, Montenegro
As part of Work Package WP5 – Awareness Campaigns in Primary and Secondary Schools, Task T5.1 - Organization of Workshops on STEM Subjects Conducted in Secondary Schools, the event took place on March 4, 2025, at Slobodan Škerović High School in Podgorica.
The primary objective of the session was to raise awareness about the importance of STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and to encourage female students to consider STEM fields as a viable academic and career path. Participants were introduced to international education programs, such as Erasmus+, which provide opportunities for student exchange, scholarships, and engagement in international projects.
A key issue addressed during the session was the underrepresentation of women in STEM professions. Discussions highlighted the challenges and opportunities in STEM fields, along with inspiring examples of successful women who have made significant contributions to science and technology.
Among the 26 attendees, 20 were female students, actively engaging in discussions and expressing interest in pursuing STEM careers. Many participants provided positive feedback, emphasizing the session's value in helping them better understand STEM opportunities.
This initiative marks a crucial step in promoting STEM education and increasing female participation in STEM fields.
