Awareness campaign in the primary school "Milan Vukotic" in Zeta - Montenegro
On 3 June 2025, the University of Montenegro (UoM), through its International Relations and Mobility Office, organized an educational workshop titled "Erasmus in Schools" at Elementary School “Milan Vukotić” in the municipality of Zeta.
The main goal of the workshop was to introduce young pupils to the concept of international mobility, the Erasmus+ programme, and the values of active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and European cooperation.
The workshop began with a presentation on what Erasmus+ represents and how it supports learning and exchange across Europe. Pupils were introduced to examples of youth exchange, study abroad, and volunteering through storytelling, visuals, and personal experiences shared by the presenters. Students were introduced to the ESN-Air project and its goals, while presenters shared QR codes linking to the ESN flyer.
A key part of the session was the EU quiz, designed to encourage curiosity about European countries, cultures, and languages. Students participated with enthusiasm, demonstrating both knowledge and interest in topics beyond their usual school curriculum.
The session reached 45 students from the upper grades of the school. Through this early exposure, students were able to gain a foundational understanding of European educational opportunities and were encouraged to remain open to future participation in such programs. Additionally, the workshop fostered a sense of European identity and belonging among participants, laying the groundwork for informed and engaged future citizens.
This activity not only supported the core goals of the ESN-AIR project — which emphasizes bottom-up, student-led internationalization — but also contributed to building a culture of openness and learning within the local community of Zeta.
